Before, I set up a wireless router in order to assign a given (fixed) ip to the printer via dhcp protocol.

Then I downloaded the multifunction printer drivers from avasys (http://avasys.jp/eng/) that officially support epson products, and followed provided instructions

Both printer and scanner functions are available from the wifi connection an works fine

printer is managed via CUPS
scanner can be used via iscan (epson utility), both directly and from gimp (as a plug-in), xsane recognizes the (network) scanner too
the scanner ADF is available from iscan and works fine

In fedora 8, before install, pass this parameter to the kernel, if not, the installation freezes over: acpi=off, idedma=off , apc=off

When is intalled, modify /boot/grub/grub.conf and delete this parameters and test if all works.
