I have downloaded the 9. 2 ftp install but i don't know the ii. p address or the actual ftp server to download from. I currently am running 9. 1 but a friend said to reinstall straight to 9. 2. .

Cant find a way to install Mandrake 10.1

I downloaded the 3CD ISO images for Mandrake v10. 1 off one of the ftp mirrors on the official website, and then I burned all 3 images to CD's. I've tried to boot from the CD but I get an error saying something like it's not a bootable disc.

hello all im new very new to linux and i dont know anything but willing to learn i installed ubuno (something like that)and it didnt work right wouldnt load startx failed so i got back on xp and dled mandrake 3 cds burn the iso great install went smooth until the graphic test i cant see an image so i read some more ...

iam having Redhat Linux 9(Shrike) and windows XP. Due to some problems i have installed windows XP again,now since the LILO bootloader has to be installed once agian How shd i install it so that i will be able to have a dual os on my system.

I have insatalled redhat 9(Shrike) its kernel version is 2. 4. 20-8, and it cannot play. mpeg,. dat files. i have installed XMMS for playing audio files but which software to use for video files. And how to install that.

GRUB loading --- doesn't!

Hi I have(had!) WInXP and Red Hat 9 happily co-existing and dual-booting using GRUB on my first 40 gb hdd; I added 80 GB as second drive and used half of it, still all fine. Installed Fedeora 3 from DVD Iso to 10GB partition of unused space on 80GB drive.

Copying a driver file on two floppies

I need to copy a Win 98 driver file for a Belkin NIC card on two floppies for my boss, who has a Windows 98 system. Of course, the file comes in at just over 1. 5 mb, so it needs to go on two floppies.

I have installed RedHat Linux 9, using LILO as a bootloader. Iam already having windows XP and i have selected to boot windows XP by default. Now when my computer starts it starts windows XP directly without prompting to select OS to boot.

I've been using Linux for the last couple of years from Mandrake, red-hat, fedora, etc. . . but now I think I really like Knoppix. I must say that linux has really the best OS out there. I love it. I was wondering though.

I've been fooling around with. Even though there is a slim chance we could get infected with something, you likely don't want to pass viruses along to our Windows friends. It might come in handy. The interface is console and very easy to use.
