system restart automatically ?

2 Questions : 1. I wonder why the system would restart automatically after shutting down. Is it normal behaviour ? 2. How can I turn the screen off when I am not using the laptop or hibernate the system.

Kmail and Thunderbird Won't Display Graphics

Kmail and Thunderbird often do not display inline graphics or graphics as attachments. And they often do not forward them or include them in a reply. I have set their options to display html and to display graphics inline.

How to change sound driver in CentOS?

I'm new to linux. . . so this may be obvious. . . but I have the Dell Version of SoundBlaster Live 5. 1 and it uses a differant driver then the regular version and CentOS only has a automatic soundcard checker, and it uses the regular driver.

I downloaded the Knoppix for testing purposes. Now I have used this for couple hours and I must admit that this is rather neat 'little' Linux. It detected all required (video card, sound card, nic, etc.

no sound when playing streaming mdia with mplayer-plugin

I'm using FC3 now with Firefox 1. 0. 2. I installed the mplayer -plugin to watch quicktime trailers and it works fine except for the fact that there is no sound at all. Could this be a problem with mplayer or the settings on my PC?.

When printing from OpenOffice 1. 3. 1 everything seems to work fine except that I cannot print more than one copy at a time. That is to say I Go File -> Print then change copies to say. . . 4 then press print.

DVD Boot Mandrake 10.0 live dvd?

Is this possible? To put all three ISO images on to one DVD? And if so, can you show me? I'm new within the past 24 hours and I'm just learning about live discs and beleive I saw something about burning a bootable DVD with mandrake but there are three ISO's and I'm trying to use Nero6.
