Audigy LS not working with Fedora core 4 :(

I just installed Fedora Core 4 with np and when i loged in i could not get any audio so i checked the Hardware list and my card was list i also made sure that it was not muted. I also was an intergrated card that did not show up but i dont care about that because it sucked anyway.

Gnome fails to start

Hi folks, FedoraCore3 On the Login Screen Session -> only 3 items there 1. Default 2. KDE 3. Failsafe - Terminal Gnome disappears The default login of Root is Gnome but it only starts Failsate-Terminal.

Problem in playing midi

X problem

i just upgraded my linux machine from suse 9. 1 to 9. 3 last night. for some reason now when im logged into like window maker, gnome, or kde after and hour or sometimes less the gui freezes. i can still log in through ssh using putty or from my other linux mahcine i have here.

dual monitor support in Madriva 10.1

i'm trying to get dual monitor support working in Mandriva 10. 1 and having no luck. i have a dual head Matrox Millenium G550 AGP video card. when i install the OS i get 3 choices: configure heads independantly, start with Xinerama extensions and configure only Matrox G550.

Hiya. I was wondering if some of you could help me out. Since I discovered that Fallout doesn't have that annoying fade-in/fade-out problem with wine as it did with cedega, I've been trying to get it to work properly and I've almost succeeded.

Directory size including contents?

Does anyone know of a Linux command that recursively determines the total diskspace consumed by a directory including all it's contents of sub-directories and files? I cannot find the correct options to use with tree or du commands so they work like the treesize.

well ive installed slackware like a million times activated the pcmcia option so etho is up but the problem is when im trying to install the madwifi driver i get of cvs. well actually it installs fine from what i can tell because if i use iwconfig ath0 is now visible however i cant connect to any wireless ap.

I'm using SuSE 9. 0 and cannot mount a USB Flash Memory (thumb drive) from a console using using the command: mount -t auto /dev/sda1 /media/sda1. This command works fine as a root user. All my directories are owned by me (not root) with full privledges and I've got the owner set to 'user' in /etc/fstab.

Hello everyone, I have this system that had a 20GB Windows ME drive in it and I decided to add Fedora Core 2 to the system by loading it to a new 20GB drive I added. I unplugged the ME drive, plugged the new drive in and loaded FC2 as hda.

DVD no media found FC3

hi after a (first)fresh install there is no access to my CD/DVD burner. weird thing is : it is a secondary master drive, but shown up as sdb in the /dev. sda is the linux partition on SATA1 channel. anyway, no link in fstab, no link in /dev , and when I try to mount it sais no media found.
