Problems with GAIM

Hi. . I have gaim messenger on redhat 9. 0, but i cannot find any access to msn messenger on it, and when i downloaded the latest RPM, while installing it getting the error message Package Not Found : libgrkspell.

I'm a noob to the Linux world, so I apologize for the basic question. . . I loaded Fedora 4, bareboned. No additional packages were installed during installation. I figured this would force me to learn a lot about how to set up a Linux system from scratch.

I don't want to start a debate or anything, but I'm just curious as to comparing two systems. My Linux experience is pretty well limited to the last couple of versions of Mandriva and the last couple of versions of SUSE.

GRUB and the list of kernels

I have grub installed and I have WinXP and Fedora installed. When I first installed Fedora, my grub loader only had 2 options, fedora, and windows. Every time i update the kernel though, it adds another option to my grub loader.

Unable To Scan With HP PSC 1401 and SUSE 10.0

I just installed a new HP PSC 1401 multifunction printer on my system. The printing is great, but SANE will not recognize the scanner. I've read and done everything I can think of, with no success. I probably won't give all the information necessary here, but this is what I've done.

I have installed two linux OSes, Mandriva LE and SuSe10 pro, and cannot boot to either. I did not make any alterations to the default install. I first installed Mandriva and when installing SuSe, without any but the default configurations,the first partition was recognised.

I need some help. I just installed 10. 0 on a Acer 4560 notebook. Booted off dvd, installed off the hard drive. The install was good, not many bumps in the road. After all was done, and the system reboots, I get a boot screen where I can pick Linux or Xp.

Grub problem with Fedora core 4

When ever I try to boot in to fedora all I see when I hit F1 is GRUB _ and it stays that way Im running an AMD 2600+ a Abit NF7 mainborad a nvidia ti 4200 AGP 8x 512mb ram and 2 250GB westurn digital harddrives.

I have a dell inspirion laptop that has recently crashed, of course. The user has some sensitive data that they need recovered. I tried using Knoppix to recover the data onto a Seagate USB External Hard Disk, but i'm getting errors.

Mandriva 2006 Beta 0.3 Dual Head

Hi, Mandriva 2006 has picked up my dual head Radeon 9800 pro okay, and shows each Head in the configuration screen. However, I can only seem to run the monitors in Clone mode - so they are just showing the same on each monitor.

I use Kazaa Lite K++ and it has no spyware at all. Using my laptop and a wireless router, I connect at 54 Mbps with Verizon DSL. Download speeds on Kazaa were sometimes over 200 K for the first month.

I'm using SUSE 10. 0. I've recently started using k3b to burn ISO files. I prefer burning at 4x but k3b bumps it up to 8x. Is there any way to stop that? I like watching news videos on the web. When trying to play web videos with linux FireFox,I get a message saying I need to install directX but I can't find a work ...

I installed giFT, gift-devel, and the following network plugins: OpenFT, Gnutella, FastTrack, Ares. I am using Apollon as a front-end. When I start Apollon, Gnutella and OpenFT connect, but FastTrack and Ares never connect.
