i have recently installed ubuntu Linux on my gaming machine on a 20gig parttion. well, when i boot into xp using the grub loader xp boots fine. however, now i do not have internet access at all, but my outlying network still communicates w/ each other.

Hi all. I've just installed FC 4 (for the 3rd time) in order to isolate a problem with the console display. Briefly, running up2date or yum breaks the monitor. The display is fine through the boot, even looks like 1280x1024, but when it hits the xdm (gdm?) the screen is whacked.

playing dvd movies on totum

just installed fc4 on an ACER aspire 3002lc everything seems to work fine exept that TOTEM movie player wont play dvd. the system has 3in1 drive. it keeps comming up with can't find url handle or somthing simila to that.

Problem installing AVM Fritz!Card USB v2.0 on Fedora Core 4

Hi, I've just installed FC4 and all seems fine, but I cannot get my Fritz!Card USB v2. 0 to work. I've downloaded the (CAPI 2. 0) driver software package for it from (version 03. 11. 07), unpacked it and ran 'make'.

I have a windows xp system (/dev/hda) and a 250 Gig /dev/hdb on which I tried to install FC 4 - It installed FC 4 OK (so I thought) - when it installed GRUB, I asked it to put is on /dev/hda (MBR) (I know, perhaps I should not have) - at the very end of the installation, there was one complaint (forgot what it was) ...

Ok, my question is two parts - completely seperate, and I'm not sure if they'd both apply here. My first issue is this: I recently installed suse 10 to a removable hard drive (removable drive bay). I have my main install of windows xp pro on my first (hda0) drive, where grub loads from.

FC4 install fails on HP DL385 with smartarray 6i

I am trying to install FC4 on an HP DL385 (2 AMD Opteron CPU's + smartarray controller). The install goes smoothly, and all the hardware is correctly recognized. Module cciss is loaded, and disks are seen as /dev/cciss/c0d.

I am facing issues with my netwok configuration in fedora core 4. When i run network config wizard, it doesn't give me an option of any USB network device. I have got a DSL modem installed on USB port and so can't make out how to make it work in Fedora.
