Hi there, I cannot get my programs running with wine emulator to browse my NFS network drives. Keeps on crashing right away when browse window opens. kubuntu Dapper running. Any ideas ?.

how to unistall backtrack2 and recover xp

I have an existing win xp system and installed new backtrack2 on the hard drive. It did not gave me a dual boot but boots on bactrack only and is hanging giving kernel panic - not syncing:vps:unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(8,5) message.

Dualboot HDD XP/FC3 Moved HDD to new Compaq Box

Try to make this as short as possible. . i have been running a dualboot syster with FC3 and XP without any problem. I just purchased a newer system from work so I wanted to move my HDD from the older system to the new one.

Is there any difference? I have a new 80G Maxtor PATA 133 drive that will not work in an IDE caddy I have just bought. I have a new 80G Seagate Ultra drive that works fine in the caddy, just the same as all my old IDE drives.

Problem getting modem to work

I installed an internal PCI 56k modem that's design for Linux. I'm running Mepis v6. 5. 02. It picks up the modem just fine and I can hear it making the connection then I get the following error message: May 31 14:51:28 localhost pppd: Connection terminated.

Converting FAT32 to NTFS on a dual boot with 2HDD

I have 1st drive XP FAT32 and 2nd drive Fedora 5. I would like to change FAT32 to NTFS. If I format C: from FAT32 to NTFS it says it will delete all data. With that will it delete the boot loader Grub from this hard disk and then I would not be able to dual boot to the 2nd drive which has Fedora 5?.

Windows 200/fedora core 6 dual boot problems

I recently installed fedora core 6 on a 400gb hard drive on a new partition. I already had windows 2000 installed on a seperate partition. I wanted to be able to pick which os to run. I only get fedora to start up and no choice to run windows.
