The drivers required for this drive no longer function under more recent kernels (SuSE 9.2 using 2.6.x kernels). The author states on his web site that he can't fix the drivers, since he no longer has his Buslink drive to test changes.
So, if you must use one of the Buslink drives requiring this driver then stick with 2.4.x kernels.
I recommend using something like the FireFly 20G USB 2.0 Hard Drive (SmartDisk Corporation) which hooks up and runs fine with no additional driver twiddling (SuSE 9.2 Pro kernel 2.6.x ).

This USB drive works fine with SUSE 9.0 Pro and on older 8.x versions. The Enrico Bravin usbide driver patched into the 2.4.x kernel works well.

Using a driver written by Enrico Bravin and found here:

This external hard drive works great on (supposedly) any 2.4.x machine and possibly 2.2.x. personally it works great on my 2.4.18 kernel.
