Worked with Debian 8.2. Non-free kernel drivers from the Debian repository were installed when tested. Have not yet tested all features.

This scanner will only work if you use 3rd party software on linux. Personally i used Vuescan from Hamrick software ( www.hamrick.com)
Once there was a kernel that supported the scanner out of the box but this was on one mysterious moment, had to swich to more recent version later and only would work using vuescan.
