This works with 2.4 kernels (Suse 9.0) very well, although only with LPD and if you hotplug the printer you should restart lpd with rclpd restart (as root)
Don't know if it works with 2.6 kernels

Might work with some distributions, but not all. Driver is closed source and buggy in my experience.
