This router prior to v4 and the GL router run linux.
"aftermarket" firmware (Linux Based) is available for just about all revisions - see www.dd-wrt.com for more info.

This router is backwards compatible to 802.11b and works flawlessly right out of the box with the Orinoco Classic Gold PC Card from Prism on a Toshiba Satellite A15-S127 using Morphix Gnome 4.0.
