Actiontec serial modem andd creative sound blaster live value

This is a discussion about Actiontec serial modem andd creative sound blaster live value in the Linux Hardware category; I have installed RH fedora core 4. 0 I have creaive soudn blaster live value sound. linux detected it but i cannot hear any sound when doing the sound test. 2nd i have actiontec serial modem. how can install that modem and how to connect to internet please reply.

On the modem, connect it to your machine and boot up. Kudzu should have no problem finding and configuring it. Once up and running, look for "kppp" in your menu open it, configure it and dial. Kppp has to be configured in the same way the dialer does in windows. Under the modem section, tell it to look for the actiontec at /dev/ttyS0. If it doesn't see it there, try /dev/ttyS1. If not there, try /dev/modem. Good luck.

Your sound problem has been faced by MANY MANY people. The problem lies in the sound volume controls. Right click the speaker icon at the top-right hand corner of the screen. Then check all the bars.
