Dear Friends, I would like to know if I cannot acquire the Cd with the software Mandrakelinux 10. 0 for AMD 64 paying your cost and the sending expenses, because my access to Internet is of only 64K.

I just insalled Fedora, and I have several problems.

First off, when I boot, I get a couple "failed"

If I do an interactive boot, I get
"modprobe: modprobe: can't locate module block-major-(number)
numbers scroll by to fast to read, but end in 135. There are
16 lines that end in 135.

I also have a network card problem.
When I get to the line that reads "determining ip information for etho" the system hangs for 2 to 3 min. and then i get
"SIOCSIFFLAGS:....device or resource busy
failed

I am a Linux beginner.

I am using a home built with a ASUS P4SGX-MX mother board.
Eathernet controller is SiS900.

The first error, ignore, it is related to sync. with the hardware clock. It is harmless.

In terms of the NIC card, look in the bios and see if PNP OS setting is set to "Yes" and change it to "no." See if this resolves the issue with the NIC card.

Thanks so much, I now have the internet on my linux computer!

But does this mean that I have lost PNP?

Thanks

No, this is really a Windows type of setting, but your PNP should work in Windows as well.
