Connecting a printer to my Asus Eee PC Linux versi

This is a discussion about Connecting a printer to my Asus Eee PC Linux versi in the Everything Linux category; I cannot seem to get anywhere with his. I have connected our network printer (Canon IR. . . ) and an HP. The Asus has found them etc and send the documents off to the printer but nothing comes out the other end.

Are these JETDIRECT printers ???

Most likely there are and you do have them setup in CUPS correct ???

I run setup from the command prompt and select Printer Configuration.

When setting up the printers you need to use the JETDIRECT printer type.

You need to setup the IP address and the port, usually 9100 on JETDIRECT printers.

After configuring and saving, I like to restart the service by typing in service cups restart.
