Good idea!
Have you got it? If yes how reliable is it?

You may refer to my other thread here about alternatives, although once the Google product matures, it will likely be crowned king.

I have it, but it's not installed yet. I've been using Filehand Search for about a month, and I have become quite reliant upon it.
Not that I have poor file management skills, but sometimes I may need an exact string, code snippet, model number, etc., and I can quickly find any relevent documents.
Plus? Filehand search does a ranking on the result, and lets you optionally view more or less of the context where the result was found.
If you have about 30-60 minutes, you should download it, and try it out, that will be far better than I could ever explain how useful it is.

Heck, you can also check out http://labs.google.com for some other neat new technologies! Personally I didn't know about the Google Desktop bar, which allows Google searching from the desktop, without having a browser window open.

OP
Just found the database, it's located in your profile in Application data. Grows pretty big tho...NTFS compressions works well on it.
Also the database location can be changed in the registry.

OP
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Google Desktop
then data_dir for the location of the database.
then data_dir for the location of the database.
I'm curious. Has anyone figured out how to get the unique number from a file or the registry? The number after the s= ?
