I'm having issues with my DVD recorder. It can be recognized in most programs but not all. Here is my setup.
Asus KV8-Pro
AMD 64FX
1 gig memory
WD 74GB SATA
Pioneer DVR-108
Kubuntu Breezy
The problem I'm getting is that I can record ISO's mostly but when using DVD-Decrypter under CrossOffice the drive is not recognized. When issuing the command hdparm I get the error shown below. I have set the dma =1 in the /etc/hdparm.conf file but after rebooting it does not take effect. I have also set the parameter at the command line but still does not seem to help.
hdparm /dev/hdc
/dev/hdc:
IO_support = 1 (32-bit)
unmaskirq = 1 (on)
using_dma = 0 (off)
keepsettings = 0 (off)
readonly = 0 (off)
readahead = 256 (on)
HDIO_GETGEO failed: Invalid argument
I guess my delima is really to get the error 'HDIO_GETGEO failed: Invalid argument' fixed. If that is fixed I'm assuming that my other problems will go away.
I've googled the error but have not found any info that has been helpful.
Please help!
