Installation problems
This is a discussion about Installation problems in the Everything Linux category; I am trying to install installed Suse on my computer that I have dual booting with Windows. Every time I select the Suse boot option it initializing hardware then starting sysem, then starting devices, and while it says starting devices the screen goes black and it freezes up.
I am trying to install installed Suse on my computer that I have dual booting with Windows. Every time I select the Suse boot option it initializing hardware then starting sysem, then starting devices, and while it says starting devices the screen goes black and it freezes up. I have a home built computer with and AMD 64 and I am running an ATI Radeon 8500 video card. Any ideas on how to get it to work?

What version of SuSE are you trying to install?
Do you get the freeze problem while installing, or when booting SuSE from Grub?
if booting (not intalling), does the screen freeze or do you get a command prompt?
