Linksys Wireless G pcmcia card setup
Hi all Just wondering if anyone has played with the new Linksys wireless G stuff and gotten it to work in Linux? I've got the WPC54G card, running Redhat 8. 0, kernel 2. 4. 18-14 and I can't seem to get it working.
Hi all
Just wondering if anyone has played with the new Linksys wireless G stuff and gotten it to work in Linux?
I've got the WPC54G card, running Redhat 8.0, kernel 2.4.18-14 and I can't seem to get it working. I have tried both suggestions from http://linux.oldcrank.com/tips/wpc11/ and also tried loading as many different wireless protocals as possible.
thinking out loud:
Is this card based on the prism chipset? even if I can't get the g part to work, shouldn't I still be able to get it to work in b mode since it's backwards compatable?
hmm - I'm off to do some more digging - possibly trying pre-release wlan-ng stuff - I'll let you know if it works, and if anyone's got any suggestions, please let me know.
thanks

FYI, if all the looks have been from people wanting to know how to do this I have found that the chipset is a Broadcom BCM4306KFB - Not looking good for a solution yet, but I'm young enough to still have hope
Anyone has any ideas, please jump in. If not, I'll keep you all informed as this looks like a popular issue
BTW - anyone who has one of these cards, go sign the petition to get Broadcom to release driver specs - it'd help everyone out
