mythtv problem
This is a discussion about mythtv problem in the Linux Software category; i finally got mythtv installed and now it wont boot im new to this area and am not sure what the issue is this is what i get # mythtv Unable to connect to database! Driver error was : QMYSQL3: Unable to connect Database error was: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.

this is what i get
[root@RAZORSkyline root]# mythtv
Unable to connect to database!
Driver error was [1/2002]:
QMYSQL3: Unable to connect
Database error was:
Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
couldn't open db
allright im assuming through this i have to set up MYSQL but am unsure as of how to do that

lucky for you mythtv has some great docs. I did this about a year ago as test then never did anything wiht it. I'm looking to start up the project again soon I remember the HOWTO docs were very helpfull.
