You could grab the Unreal Tournament 2004 demo. I have UT2004 and it has provided me with countless hours of entertainment on my GNU/Linux box.

Urm. Thats Enemy Territory. It's a multiplayer version of Wolfenstein.
Americas Army is an excellent free multiplayer fps-game available for Linux.
There's also Transfusion - a Blood clone for multiplayer
There's Prboom - (Doom)
Netpanzer - a multiplayer tank game - more rts than fps though
