HELP...

I have a similar problem, but I didn't install anything new.. All of a sudden my internet stops working on my older PC. The networking still works between my two PCs. The PC that stopped working is running Win 98 and I can't find anything hardware wise wrong with it. I tried Firefox by Mozilla, because some people told me that IE can get virus that screw it up. But that didn't work either.

Any ideas?

can you provide the same level of network configuration information about one
of the other PCs (one of the ones that keeps working)?

This is the good PC which runs XP. Just a note, it was attacked also and stopped working, but with XP I do daily system restores, so I went back a few days and am up again.

so let me see if I've got this right..

Your Win98 box has a static IP address (DHCP disabled) and
your WinXP box has both DHCP and Connection Sharing enabled.

Does the device at IP 192.168.1.1 (which is also the DHCP server)
know the Win98 box has a static address? to ensure it won't ever
issue IP 192.168.1.104 ? (you can't have to boxes with the same IP)
