Newbie needs some help
ok, i have recently installed mandrake 9. 2 on my machine and nee dsome help with a couple of things. . . . 1. ) how do i activate telnet?? It won't let me in 2. ) i am using apache as a webserver. .

1.) how do i activate telnet?? It won't let me in
2.) i am using apache as a webserver.. how do i change the port from 80 to something else?? (my cable provider blocks port 80)
any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Ok...I am still a newbie as well, but I can help you with this. You need to modify your httpd.conf file and find the Listen section. There, you can change what port the Linux box listens on from 80 to, say for example 8080. You can use whereis httpd.conf to find the file. Navigate to that folder, and edit the file using emacs or vi - which ever editor you find most comfortable.
