Hi Ya Guys
I'm a total newbie to the Linux community... I've formatted my hdd and installed Mandriva 2005 LE, the PowerPack edition, which has 6 CD's and I let the installation find all six of them. I know... and think u all agree that Linux is far better/stable than Microsoft.
Anywayz, my problem: After successful installation of Manriva, I did sumthing with the desktop config, cause I wanted to set the Hz to 60 instead of 75. Well, when I restarted my PC, it came to a text login screen. I dunno what I did - I'm lost with Linux if there's no GUI. I know my way around DOS and Windows, but here... lol... I feel totally dumb. Can anyone please assist me how to get to my GUI again?
BTW, anyone of you guys know where I can get to learn more about the linux commands and what they do? I'd like to braoden me knowledge on linux seeing that is growing.
Thanx Ya'll!

Get to root user. I hope that you know your root password?
If so, do this at the console.
Type su (hit the enter key)
type in your root password (enter key)
Type in XFdrake (enter key)
Make sure that the first two letters (XF)are capitalized.
This will bring you to a utility. Set it back to 75.
Test the resolution to make sure that it works.
Finish
Reboot.

There's also a lot of useful information here:

I hope those help. The command line is your friend.
