Promise Fasttrak S150 SX4

This is a discussion about Promise Fasttrak S150 SX4 in the Linux Hardware category; Hi I've been searching around the web trying to find anybody who could verify that this controller would work with ClarkConnect. Has anybody tried it, maybe with another distro? It's a hardware assisted SATA RAID5 controller at a resonable price.

Hi

I've been searching around the web trying to find anybody who could verify that this controller would work with ClarkConnect. Has anybody tried it, maybe with another distro? It's a hardware assisted SATA RAID5 controller at a resonable price. But I don't want to buy it before I'm sure it will work. It's not in the database here at LinuxCompatible.

Did you check or ask this question at the ClarkConnect forums?

You are more likely to get a direct answer.

It looks like Promise had Linux source drivers for RedHat 8 and 9 and SuSE, but it looks like somethng for an experienced Linux user to try. They had the usual disclaimer "we do not provide support...".

I can only guess that support is built into the kernel (2.6.9) or as a module, but they might be the best folks to check with.
