RAID problem on ASUS P5RD1-V
Hello all! I'm trying to get Fedora Core 3 to install on a 2-drive SATA RAID on an Asus P5RD1-V motherboard. The RAID chip is ULi M5287, and I have configured the two SATA drives as RAID 1 (mirroring) in the RAID utility.
Hello all! I'm trying to get Fedora Core 3 to install on a 2-drive SATA RAID on an Asus P5RD1-V motherboard.
The RAID chip is ULi M5287, and I have configured the two SATA drives as RAID 1 (mirroring) in the RAID utility.
I have created a driver diskette from the ULi website (uli.com.tw) and when the Fedora Core 3 CDROM boots up, I type "linux dd".
The installer prompts me for the driver diskette, and all is well.
When installing, I see the RAID correctly (/dev/sda) and am able to partition and format. Installation of FC3 is successful.
After removing the CD and rebooting, the GRUB loader comes up properly, but then after it attempts to boot, I get the following error messages:
Red Hat nash version 4.1.18 starting
mkrootdev: label / not found
mount: error 2 mounting ext3
mount: error 2 mounting none
switchroot: mount failed: 22
umount /initrd/dev failed: 2
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
What can I do to fix this issue? I don't understand enough about configuring boot drives to know why this isn't working. I would greatly appreciate any assistance!
Thanks!
KrasL
