SIL3112A Slackware Install

I'm running slackware 9. 0 and i updated the kernel to 2. 4. 21, and i ensured i enabled the ATA block device for the Silicon image in the kernel config, but on boot the system fails to detect the controller, am i leaving something out?.

i figured it out, i recompiled my kernel and enabled it as a module and made sure i remember to do a make modules and make modules_install
