SuSE Pro Install Issue

I have just tried to install SuSE 9. 1 pro however my fourth disk didn't work. Hoping nothing vital was stored on that disk I pressed on and hoped that YaST would dl and install any packages I had missed.

I have just tried to install SuSE 9.1 pro however my fourth disk didn't work. Hoping nothing vital was stored on that disk I pressed on and hoped that YaST would dl and install any packages I had missed.

It now all seems to work except for sound, which I have been trying to install through YaST, all it will throw up is: "Unable to install sound module"

The card is a Creative SB 512 which I have had working fine under FC1&2 and the personal version.

Anyone any idea how to fix this problem or where to dl an image for the 4th disk so I can try the install again?

Oh I do have onboard sound as well but this is disabled in bios

Try this. Get to a terminal window, change to root user and type in alsaconf. See if this allows you to configure your sound. If this works, then run alsamixer and make sure that the sound is not muted.

In terms of the cd disks, where did you get the ones that you are using?

It works - Dunno what I did, but booted into Nix a low and behold the sound decided to work! As for the disks, they came from a friend - think I may hav scratched the 4th one!
