Toshiba Iaptop Modem installation Problem on linux 9

Dear Experts, i have Toshiba laptop Pentium 4. i have installed linux 9. my modem is not working with linux 9. i have AMR modem. how can i installed the modem software. where could i download the software? plz help me xenoboy.

First, could you clarify what distro of Linux that you are using; RedHat, Mandrake...

Try to see what AMR modem you have, or post what exact model of Toshiba laptop that you have.

Some AMR modems are supported, some are not in Linux, depending on what model that you have.

xenoboy, doing a quick search of your modem at Linmodems.org, I'm afraid it doesn't look good. Quoting from their website:

"Lucent/Agere modem resources Manufacturer names of Lucent or Xircom may be displayed by the query "lspci -vv". These may be supported. The Lucent AMR modems are definitely not supported."
