It's a tie between Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnon IMO. Sean Connery gets props for being the first and setting the standard for the rest to follow though.
I gotta say Brosnan because Goldeneye is my favorite of the bond movies.
I think Connery is good as well, but the problem is that obviously his movies were alot earlier, so they miss all the cool gadgets that they have these days.
I think if he had the material that Brosnan has he could be just as good.

Quote:Quote:Connery was too "manly" to be Bond.
Brosnan is a pretty boy as James Bond Should be
Have you every read the books?
I have. Every last one of them.
They are great.
And Connery will be the one and only Bond.

connery was the perfect Bond.
he will always BE Bond to me.
these other guys are just boys being bondish.
like the REAL james bond retired and they just took up the name to scare their enemies.
like the Dread Pirate Roberts.
Bond is not a pretty boy; he is a strong, VERY masculine MAN.

As it happens, Roger Moore was one of Ian Flemings original choices to play James Bond (along with David Niven, Cary Grant and a fourth who I can't remember). He was only rejected because when Albert R. "Cubby" Broccoli and Harry Saltzman were casting for Dr. No they decided he was too young for the part.
Sean Connery is da man. Pierce Bronson is a close 2nd.
Wasn't there a Bond movie before the Connery films that was so poor that they attempt to refuse to acknowledge it as a "Bond" film?
I saw/heard something like this on one of those "waste-of-hour" specials on FOX or something. Apparently there is an extra "Bond" that is not included in the official count or the DVD release.
Does anyone else know about this?

I know this won't be a popular opinion, but my favourite Bond is Timothy Dalton. I'm not really sure why, maybe it's because he was in my favourite bond film [The Living Daylights], or maybe it's just cos maybe he's more like the way I think Bond should be. Brosnan would be my 2nd choice, but I'm not sure who I prefer out of Connery & Moore - it's been a while since I've seen any of the older films.
BTW, as to the dreadful Bond film that everyone tries not to think about - it was Casino Royale.
