YaST translation and .pot files

Hello -

I'm involved in a project in which we are customizing YaST for our special Linux environment. Part of the customization, naturally, is changing text that is displayed by various YaST modules. I've come upon .pot files in each YaST package and I understand that they are used somehow for language translation.

My question is this: if our custom Linux is not going to allow for language translation, but will only support US-English, do I need to worry about changing these .pot files? If they are left "as-is", will the inline text within the code modules override the text in the.pot files?

Thanks,
Michael Rose
