I'm trying to install Mandriva Limited Edition 2005 DVD on my system as a dual boot with Windows, and I keep running into a problem with my graphics card. The install goes fine all the way up to where I configure my devices, and all of them are found automatically except my video card.

Hello all. I left my mandrake 10. 0 CD1 at work and I am trying to install the c++ / gcc components so that I may try a Vmware install. I have downloaded 2. rpm's and tried to install them but I get this warning: group gb does not exist - using root and the packages do not work.

Hi, I am a linux newbie. I want to try to learn linux, and i downloaded the 3CD Mandrake install from this site, and I heard Suse is easier to learn. Someone please help me choose my first linux. Mandrake sounds really nice to me though.

I've been reading all the posts about setting up a dual-boot system, but they all seem to have a common thread. Namely, write over your Windows MBR with the GRUB loader. The problem is, I DON'T WANT TO DO THAT! It's such a PITA if I want to uninstall Linux to rewrite the MBR in WinXP with SATA drives.

I have tried 3 different NIC cards, trying to resolve ips with dhcp and entering in the proper static ip information from both my router and directly connecting to my cable modem. All three cards to not connect successfully.

i have recently install fc3 onto my hp dx6100 pc. I can mount my usbpen thru automount but after I unmount it, I cannot remount it unless I reboot the pc. Any suggestions. .

Is it possible to burn pictures (photo's) to a disc that can be played back on a DVD player on a television? I am using FC4, I have K3b as one option as my burning tool. I tried this once, and burned the pictures as a DVD data project, and the DVD player said the disc didn't have playback feature.

Ok i hate to sound really stupid and naive but i need to know how to Dual Boot with the Windows XP OS and Fedora (i dunno the # but its about 1 year old, i dont mind re dling it). I have 2 drives set up as follows Drive 1 (80 GB total NTFS).

Neither the creat or open commands seem to be supported on Fedora, what are their substitutes? (I've only used Unix systems before and this is my first time using the Linux command prompt)

To start off, I have read the other posts on this subject, but they didn't help too much. I have two Western Digital HDDs, one 40GB and one 250GB along with a 2002 Dell Dimension 4400 box w/ DVD and CD drives.
