Dual Boot Problems with Redhat

Hi all, I have two 80GB HDD, and on my primary i had Win XP and Redhat 9. 0 installed. My default boot loader was GRUB, i had 2 format my HDD and reinstall XP and Redhat. But now when i install Redhat on my m/c, and try to boot Win XP i get a message rootnoverify chainloader +1 message and am not able to boot my XP.

Trouble booting external hard drive

You folks are probably sick of boot trouble,but , heres another one. I'm trying to boot Ubuntu on a external (usb) drive. It installs fine. Every grub install option fails. I tried MBR install,floppy boot,and installed drive boot.

Grub.conf - dual boot xp64 and fedora 4

Please help me with my problem, i'm a complete noob at this. i had xp64 installed on a SATA2 250gb. I added a slave IDE80gb drive just to put linux on. my xp works fine, and so i continued to install fedora core 4.

Hello, Iam having problems installing the updates packages for Mandrake 9. 2. First the 3 disks I have I got from LINUX FORUM LXF47 December 2003. On the desktop screen it says Mandrake 9. 2 Download Version.

FC4 and XP on one hard drive

Hi, I am wondering how to install Fedora Core 4 on the same hard drive as Windows XP. I need to reinstall XP anyway, so repartitioning will not be a problem. 1. When I partition and format before reinstalling XP, should I set aside partitions for FC4? 2.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9

Can anyone tell me where I can obtain a FREEE copy of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 or any similar alternative? I'm going to sit for the NCLP exam and apparently it's based on this. I want to have some practice with the OS.

Two SUSE Boxes On Network Sharing Printer

When i run Call of duty single player it will work. When i try to run Call of duty Mulitplayer it will not even open to the main page and i get a error. If i knew how to post pics i would. It is the oldest Call of Duty for PC.

I just downloaded and installed the most recent kernel for FC4. I now have 4 kernels in my grub menu, and in my computer as well. Now , going with the philosophy that if 1 is good, 2 MUST be better , 4 seems a little exessive! Could someone explain to me how to find and remove these extra kernels that I have, but m ...

Fedora 4 freezes on Keyboard language selection

I am having problems installing Fedora Core 4 on my PC. For some reason it freezes on the Keyboard language selection every time. So far, I tried installing it using the linux i8042. nomux command and it failed.

getting X in Debian Sarge

I've just got a Debian Sarge network install disc and successfully installed the disc. However, the install doesn't consist of X and any windows manager. Can anyone tell me the names of the X packages and GNOME or KDE so I can manually download and install them throught APT?.

I just switch from Redhat 9. 0 to the Mandriva 2005 LE for a few days. And I found out there some software that work fine in Redhat 9. 0 have problems in Mandriva 2005 limited Editon, such as Firefox1.

If anyone wants to try the Firefox Version 1. 4. 1 update for SUSE 9. 3, there is an RPM available to do so. This link is for the I586 version, however there is also a 64 bit version available. Regards, zenarcher.

Problems installing Mandriva 2006 RC2

Hi, I've just downloaded Mandriva 2006 RC2, and I have the same two problems I had when I tried to install Mandriva 10. 1. I have an Asus P4P800, with a Pentium 4 2. 8Ghz, 512 mb and an ATI 9800 XT. I burned the Iso images to cdrw, and tried to install from there.
