Hi I am Very New To Linux and I tried to Install Redhat Enterprises Linux WS Version 4 32-BIT x86 but While Installing,It Wont Detect My Hard Drive. . . . . . . I am Using ICH7 Family Storage (SATA) and I downloaded kernel-2.

About to install Fedora Core 5 with XP, whats ideal setup

Hi, If i am wishing to installed Fedora Core 5 on a PC , to dual boot with XP. What would you say is the idea setup to have the PC at before installing. I know I should XP installed first. But what should the drives look like? How should they be formatted? any other tips?.

Hey I brought a cheap cam off ebay a while back with no brand name (lol) And was wondering if there was a command i could use to probe it (in USB) to find some data so i can google for a driver/module?? Thanks /Knad

Hello, I am a complete newbee in linux. It is the first time I try to install it. I would like to have a dual boot with windows xp and FC5. Basically, I have three scsi HD. One primary disk of 150 go and two of 70go linked together with a raid.

Removing Fedora Core 5 and installing Windows XP

I want to remove Fedora Core 5 and place on Windows XP onto my machine, although I only have the XP cd and not the Fedora Core 5 cds. If I have to get a Fedora Core cd to perform an fdisk command, which cd would that be? I'm kinda new to this so more detailed the explanation the better.

I'm fairly new to Linux and have just run basic installs. I am now trying to do the internet install of SUSE 10. 1 and cannot figure it out at all!! I read a lot of the other messages, but it still does not seem to make sense.

linux swap partition question

Hello, I recently installed FC 5 and chose not to create a swap partition for linux. I was given a message that said having a swap partition would increase the performance of linux. Is it really that much of a difference? and if so, should I reinstall fedora and create a swap partition? Thanks in advance, GoNoles.

hello, I am running fedora core 5 and installed the nvidia video driver from rpm. livna. org Now I want to remove it and go back to the driver that came with the fedora cd installation. How do i uninstall it? I am new to linux so please explain the process in detail.

i tried to install mandrake 10 by booting my sys with the 1st cd at first i see the opening menue and its all good after that i need to press <ENTER> to install mandrake. there is an error messege <cant find cdrom> how can it be???!? btw i using my dvd r as my cdrom could it be that ????.

prob install Suse 10.0 on newer 64 bit laptop

I have a new HP zv6000 laptop with a 64bit processor and when I go to install Suse 10. 0 it requests that I insert a 'driver update floppy'. The install will not proceed any further and I don’t know exactly what this driver update is.

I have resently installed Linux Fedora Core 5. I loved it but i also want to have Windows XP running on the same machine. I have now uninstalled Linux Fedora and have installed Windows XP. I have gotten my computer set up to run Linux.
