ID: 201310-05

Synopsis
========

A vulnerability in GEGL might allow a remote attacker to execute
arbitrary code.

Background
==========

GEGL is a graph-based image processing framework.

Affected packages
=================

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Package / Vulnerable / Unaffected
-------------------------------------------------------------------
1 media-libs/gegl < 0.2.0-r2 >= 0.2.0-r2

Description
===========

Multiple integer overflows in GEGL may cause a heap-based buffer
overflow.

Impact
======

A remote attacker could entice a user to open a specially crafted PPM
image using an application linked against GEGL, possibly resulting in
execution of arbitrary code with the privileges of the process or a
Denial of Service condition.

Workaround
==========

There is no known workaround at this time.

Resolution
==========

All gegl users should upgrade to the latest version:

# emerge --sync
# emerge --ask --oneshot --verbose ">=media-libs/gegl-0.2.0-r2"

Packages which depend on this library may need to be recompiled. Tools
such as revdep-rebuild may assist in identifying some of these
packages.

Synopsis
========

Multiple vulnerabilities have been found in nginx, the worst of which
may allow execution of arbitrary code.

Background
==========

nginx is a robust, small, and high performance HTTP and reverse proxy
server.

Affected packages
=================

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Package / Vulnerable / Unaffected
-------------------------------------------------------------------
1 www-servers/nginx < 1.4.1-r2 >= 1.4.1-r2

Description
===========

Multiple vulnerabilities have been discovered in nginx. Please review
the CVE identifiers referenced below for details.

Impact
======

A remote attacker could send a specially crafted request, possibly
resulting in execution of arbitrary code with the privileges of the
process, or a Denial of Service condition. Furthermore, a
context-dependent attacker may be able to obtain sensitive information.

Workaround
==========

There is no known workaround at this time.

Resolution
==========

All nginx users should upgrade to the latest version:

# emerge --sync
# emerge --ask --oneshot --verbose ">=www-servers/nginx-1.4.1-r2"
