Apache NetBeans IDE 24-rc1 is now available for testing, featuring a number of updates. Improvements have been made in Gradle, Maven, Java, LSP, PHP, and C/C++.
Gradle has introduced the Project (re)load API, supported annotation processor dependencies, implemented LoadOptions for project loading control, and enhanced "internal reload" capabilities during project reload. Maven has addressed the test window for multi-module projects, resolved rename refactoring issues for record components and compact constructors, and introduced a default variable formatter for BigInteger and BigDecimal in the debugger. The LSP has enhanced push diagnostics gathered during project indexing, resolved build issues for the NetBeans Language Server VSCode extension on the Windows platform, and addressed LspElementUtils concerning anonymous classes that extend an enclosing class. PHP has incorporated support for the Psalm static analyzer, rectified the inaccurate display of skipped tests in the Test Results window for PHPUnit and Codeception, and enhanced the configuration of clangd/CCLS.
