A spamassassin security update has been released for Debian GNU/Linux 8 LTS to address an issue where malicious rule or configuration files could execute arbitrary commands under multiple scenarios.

Two vulnerabilities were discovered in spamassassin, a Perl-based spam
filter using text analysis. Malicious rule or configuration files,
possibly downloaded from an updates server, could execute arbitrary
commands under multiple scenarios.

For Debian 8 "Jessie", these problems have been fixed in version
3.4.2-0+deb8u3.
