A rrdtool security update has been released for Debian GNU/Linux 8 LTS to address the execution of arbitrary code and denial of service (applicationcrash) via a crafted third argument to the rrdtool.graph function.
Package : rrdtool
Version : 1.4.8-1.2+deb8u1
CVE ID : CVE-2014-6262
Multiple format string vulnerabilities in RRDtool, as used in Zenoss
Core before 4.2.5 and other products, allow remote attackers to
execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (application
crash) via a crafted third argument to the rrdtool.graph function, aka
ZEN-15415, a related issue to CVE-2013-2131.
For Debian 8 "Jessie", this problem has been fixed in version
1.4.8-1.2+deb8u1.
We recommend that you upgrade your rrdtool packages.
