2005-12-13
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Product : Fedora Core 4
Name : kernel
Version : 2.6.14
Release : 1.1653_FC4
Summary : The Linux kernel (the core of the Linux operating system)
Description :
The kernel package contains the Linux kernel (vmlinuz), the core of any
Linux operating system. The kernel handles the basic functions
of the operating system: memory allocation, process allocation, device
input and output, etc.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This update fixes several minor security related issues.
A problem was discovered where users could reprogram keys,
leaving 'traps' for the next user of a console. The ability
has been restricted to root.
A 32 bit integer overflow was discovered in the
invalidate_inode_pages2() function which could lead to a
local denial of service attack.
