---------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2005-481
2005-06-24
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Product : Fedora Core 4
Name : NetworkManager
Version : 0.4
Release : 18.FC4
Summary : Network link manager and user applications
Description :
NetworkManager attempts to keep an active network connection available at all times. It is intended only for the desktop use-case, and is not intended for usage on servers. The point of NetworkManager is to make networking configuration and setup as painless and automatic as possible. If using HCP, NetworkManager is _intended_ to replace default routes, obtain IP addresses from a DHCP server, and change nameservers whenever it sees fit.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This update to NetworkManager includes a number of enhancements:
o Nameservers in Static IP network profiles are recognized
o Fix applet's idea of the current network
o Play better with SELinux
o Don't endlessly cycle devices when using Static IP configurations
---------------------------------------------------------------------
* Wed Jun 15 2005 Dan Williams <dcbw@redhat.com> - 0.4-18.FC4
- Upstream all patches to gnome.org CVS in "FC4_BRANCH" branch, use
upstream tarball
* Wed Jun 15 2005 Dan Williams <dcbw@redhat.com> - 0.4-17.cvs20050404
- Fix static IP configuration to not segfault NetworkManager
- Update NM's idea of the IP address after static config
* Fri Jun 10 2005 Dan Williams <dcbw@redhat.com> - 0.4-16.cvs20050404
- Pick up nameservers from the active network profile if using static IP
- Fix double-escape of ESSID which would lead to applet not knowing the current
active wireless network
- Don't request write permission to ifcfg-* files (fixes SELinux warnings)
- Don't get driver support level too early (suppresses useless warnings in logs)
