There are several important release-day bugfix and security updates available today as well. If you upgrade from an earlier Fedora Linux release, you'll get them as part of that. For new systems, please make sure to check for and apply updates as soon as possible.
The final version of Fedora Linux 40 is now available. Fedora Workstation 40 introduces new features and performance improvements for a more seamless computing experience. It offers GNOME 46, the most recent version of the GNOME desktop environment. Key enhancements include an overhaul to the Files app, better accessibility, and refined usability in the Settings and core apps. Notifications are now organized by app, feature an expand button, and can be accessed using the Ctrl modifier. Tap to Click is enabled for touchpads, and GNOME 46 now has a Remote Login option for remote desktop connections.
