Thomas Crider has released a new version of GE-Proton with updated proton-wine/dxvk/vkd3d, mono 7.4.0, and various bug fixes. GE-Proton is a fork of the Wine based Proton compatibility tool for Steam Play.
GE-Proton7-39 Released
This is my build of Proton with the most recent bleeding-edge Proton Experimental WINE.
Things it contains that Valve's Proton does not:
- DXVK patched with Async, which can be toggled with DXVK_ASYNC=1
- Additional media foundation patches for better video playback support
- AMD FSR patches added directly to fullscreen hack that can be toggled with WINE_FULLSCREEN_FSR=1
- FSR Fake resolution patch details here
- Nvidia CUDA support for PhysX and NVAPI
- Raw input mouse support
- 'protonfixes' system -- this is an automated system that applies per-game fixes (such as winetricks, envvars, EAC workarounds, overrides, etc).
- Various upstream WINE patches backported
- Various wine-staging patches applied as they become needed
New in GE-Proton7-39:
- proton-wine updated to latest bleeding edge
- dxvk updated to git
- vkd3d-proton updated to git
- overwatch 2 freeze fix added (may help other games)
- pulled in upstream proton nvapi fixes
- enabled gamedrive option for ESO by default
- mono updated to 7.4.0
- no-longer-required protonfixes removed for Sonic Adventures 2, Farcry 5 EAC, Origin (thanks Bitwolfies)
