With the release of version 2.2.3 of the GNU Image Manipulation Program, the GIMP developers hope to have eliminated most, if not all, of the regression bugs that kept people from upgrading from GIMP 2.0. GIMP 2.2 is now at the point where everyone should be using it. Of course the 2.2 tree will be maintained further, but GIMP developers will now be able to focus on the development branch again.
