Thunderbolt technology aimed for connecting peripheral multiple devices to expansion bus in a computers by combining PCIe and enhanced display port into new serial data interface. Thunderbolt offer high speed transfer rate up to 10 GB/s per port is way faster than USB 3 and eSATA. So far Thunderbolt technology is not available for many systems, however, it will be compatible with the most available devices nowadays.
