A new version of KloxoNG has been released. KloxoNG is a fork of the Kloxo-MR/Kloxo webhosting control panel for CentOS.
We now have a final release for Kloxo-MR rebuild version of KloxoNG, kloxong-0.1.2-final . I’m confident that we haven’t introduced any major faults into Kloxo and we have even fixed a few Kloxo-MR bugs along the way.
However, be aware that that any of the problems you have with Kloxo-MR will also very likely be in this release of KloxoNGg.
So where does this get us then?
Well basically we’ve liberated kloxo from the control of one person and hopefully made the development and build process more transparent.
Now begins the big job of fixing bugs and making enhancements. There is a growing list of issues at https://github.com/KloxoNGCommunity/kloxong/issues and I’m sure it will get longer yet.
For anyone wishing to upgrade, I would recommend installing kloxoNG on a clean system and restoring a backup of your existing installation to the clean system.
As the existing Kloxo-MR backup scripts do not do a complete backup and you will also need to do an rsync to copy over certificates and other files that may have been missed by the backup.
I will write up a tutorial on how to do this.
Also very important – check your firewall settings before rebooting as the Kloxo clean and update scripts have a nasty habit of reactivating the firewall and locking you out from your system.
