A press release from Mandriva:
Paris, March 19th 2007 - Mandriva and Seanodes today announce their partnership.
Mandriva has become a strategic partner for Seanodes, with two main areas of co-operation:
- availability of Seanodes' Shared Internal Storage (SIS) solution in Mandriva Corporate Server 4;
- global technical partnership between Mandriva and Seanodes on virtualization solutions.
This new partnership will provide a low cost storage solution both for high performance computing and virtualized environments. Virtualization is one of the main features of Corporate Server 4, which includes the newest tools from Xen, SWsoft and VMware. Exanodes, Seanodes' Shared Internal Storage solution, aims to harmonize the use of internal disks of physical machines in an easy, efficient and reliable way.
"As Mandriva is a strategic player in the Linux distributions market, it was quite natural for Seanodes to work closely with Mandriva?, explains Franck Gana, Seanodes Marketing Manager. ?The Exanodes and Shared Internal Storage concept is a close fit not only for high performance computing but also for virtualization. These are two domains in which Mandriva provides efficient solutions".
By certifying and distributing Seanodes products, Mandriva further adds to its range of partners in the server market. According to Anne Nicolas, Mandriva Corporate Product Manager, "Seanodes' approach is extremely interesting because it provides complete virtualization of physical server resources. It will be a good complement for all our virtualization tools included in Corporate Server 4".
For Mandriva, this new partnership represents an ideal way to grow the software ecosystem for Corporate Server 4. For Seanodes, it is another step towards developing a technological and commercial ecosystem for High Performance Computing.
