H.P. Noordam has released unofficial MySQL 4.0.14 RPMs for the Cobalt Qube 3

This document describes the procedure i used to upgrade the standard MySQL on the Qube 3 to MySQL 4.0.14. In the process we will also install the web based adminsitration tools phpMyAdmin, and secure access to it.

I used this on a vanilla Qube, with all patches installed, and no other software present. If you would like to build your own RPM’s on the Qube, building the RPM is of interest.
