Ian Murdock has published a roadmap update for Progeny Debian 2.0

We've been doing a lot of thinking about the roadmap for Componentized Linux and Progeny Debian over the last several weeks given the continued uncertainty over the timing of the release of sarge. Rather than releasing now and ending up with an "almost sarge", we've decided to continue tracking sarge until it is released.

So, I'm in the process of updating the development components now. I've updated gnome-2.8 to match the current sarge version. I've also updated evolution-2.0 to the latest sid version, to prepare for the coming migration of Evolution 2.0 into sarge. All other components will be updated over the next few days.

The initial update from RC1 to the components I'm updating now may be a bit bumpy, as it has been two months since the last update. I'm updating the components in stages and testing upgrades along the way to make sure everything works. Until all the components are fully updated, I would strongly recommend current users of RC1 not update to the development components at apt-devel.componentizedlinux.org.

When the update is ready, I'll post here with any instructions necessary to perform a smooth upgrade. As before, we will support upgrades from RC1 but not earlier versions. From there, we'll likely do an RC2 and continue tracking sarge updates on a daily or nearly daily basis, with monthly RC versions of both the components (i.e., apt-devel -> apt) and Progeny Debian (i.e., new ISO images) to facilitate additional testing.
