A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:

- Ubuntu 22.10
- Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 16.04 ESM
- Ubuntu 14.04 ESM

Summary:

tmux could be made to crash if it received a specially crafted input.

Software Description:
- tmux: terminal multiplexer

Details:

It was discovered that tmux incorrectly handled certain inputs.
An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause a denial of service.

Update instructions:

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following
package versions:

Ubuntu 22.10:
tmux 3.3a-1ubuntu0.1

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS:
tmux 3.2a-4ubuntu0.2

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS:
tmux 3.0a-2ubuntu0.4

Ubuntu 18.04 LTS:
tmux 2.6-3ubuntu0.3

Ubuntu 16.04 ESM:
tmux 2.1-3ubuntu0.1~esm1

Ubuntu 14.04 ESM:
tmux 1.8-5ubuntu0.1~esm1
